Quicken Loans Arena and The Cleveland Cavaliers

CTG was selected to partner with Quicken Loans Arena to complete a full high definition video control room update.   In a unique twist for the project, the scheduling required the upgrade to occur in the middle of the Cleveland Cavaliers’ season without missing any events.

Utilizing industry knowledge and experience, CTG:

  • Designed the central control room around a router with integrated multiviewers, handling integration between the intercom system and an IP audio solution
  • Connected a switcher anchoring the production of the in-house and broadcast shows
  • Provided eight cameras, including four that were installed in the scoreboard
  • Supplied a super slowmo camera, one of the first such deployments of the system for in-arena productions at the time
  • Delivered a system to handle wireless camera operations for the facility
  • Strategically placed antennas which allow for operation of the wireless cameras from the main seating bowl and most concourses

Manufacturer partners included Evertz, Chyron, Vislink, RTS, VIPX, Wheatstone, Karrera, LDX, Grass Valley, and Telemetrics.

“For the installation of Quicken Loans Arena’s HD Production Control Room, we sought proposals from several nationally known system integrators.  Of these, we chose CTG based upon their professionalism, experience and commitment to completing the project in a very tight timeframe.  CTG’s pre-installation planning was top notch and their installers were great to work with.  Together we developed the most state-of-the-art arena control room in North America and we would not hesitate to recommend their services to other venues.”
Joe Frietchen, Senior Manager of Engineering, Cavaliers Operating, Company, LLC.
