Jim founded CTG in 1991 with Steve McCormick. After graduating from the Peabody Conservatory of Music at Johns Hopkins University, Jim gained engineering and technical experience at Eastman’s Recording in Rochester, NY. He moved on to WXXI-TV in Rochester as a Master Control Operator, Audio Specialist and Engineer in Charge. Making his way south of the Mason Dixon Line, Jim worked as an Audio Engineer with Crawford Communications, one of the largest teleproduction companies in the United States. Jim launched CTG with extensive experience and a vision for heightened service and capabilities in the audio/visual and broadcast arena. Jim holds virtually every major industry certification and affiliation. His leadership continues to enhance and expand CTG’s exceptional offerings across the country.


Steven E. McCormick,
Executive Vice President

As co-founder of CTG, Steve brings a wealth of experience and leadership to the company. Upon graduating magna cum laude with a degree in Commercial Music/Recording from Georgia State University, he launched his audio engineering career at Cheshire Sound/Musiplex in Atlanta. There he served as General Manager, overseeing the recording studios and daily operations. In 1989, Steve was hired by Crawford Communications as an Audio Engineer and during his tenure was promoted to Chief Audio Engineer – overseeing 10 audio production suites and a full staff of engineers. Steve’s technological expertise and strong management skills came together perfectly to help CTG take flight. He continues to help guide CTG while further broadening the company’s breadth and scope. Steve’s industry affiliations include SMPTE (Society of Motion Picture & Television Engineers), AES (Audio Engineering Society) and PSNI (Professional Systems Network International). Steve has also achieved certification as a Certified Technology Specialist by InfoComm International.

Lisa Helton,
Chief Financial Officer

Lisa is a responsible for CTG’s financial operation and benefits administration.  She manages a staff of four and ensures smooth company operation. With more than 20 years of accounting experience, she rules the world of spreadsheets, flowcharts and everything financial, bringing an unmatched level of confidence and professionalism. She holds a Masters of Accounting Degree from the University of Tennessee and is a Certified Public Accountant.  In addition, she is a member of the American Institute of Public Accountants and The Georgia Society of CPAs.

Sales Manager

Jim’s management experience in handling national sales teams and major accounts enables him to fashion a unique approach to CTG’s sales efforts. An emphasis on developing successful and repeatable processes, combined with a desire to allow members of the sales staff to have individual styles, brings a sophisticated approach to selling without losing the personal touch that has brought CTG to national prominence.

Integration Manager

With more than 10 years of practical industry experience in Project Management, Mr. Curtis has extensive experience in design, bidding, and implementation of audio/visual systems, broadcast, corporate video departments, large venue and museum projects.


Mohammad Zahid,
Chief Technology Officer

Mohammad serves as Chief Technology Officer for Comprehensive Technical Group, LLC.   He is responsible for the IT Consulting and Managed Services Division, which Comprehensive Technical Group acquired from Sound Enterprises in 2012.   Since this acquisition, the department has grown dramatically in both scope and ability. Mohammad is primarily focused on strengthening the offerings of hosted and managed services, while driving the company forward in both sales and innovation.
Mohammad is involved in the technology community around the Atlanta area and currently serves on the Board of Directors for Atlanta Chapter of AFCOM, the leading association of datacenter management professionals with over 4,500 members worldwide.   Along with AFCOM, he has also been involved with multiple speaking engagements for such organizations as Datacenter Dynamics and the Technology Association of Georgia (TAG).
Mohammad graduated from Georgia State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Managerial Sciences and holds many industry-related certifications, including the CDCDP, ITMLE and ITILv3 foundation certifications.
